So there’s this whole GENZ vs MILLENNIAL thing going around and in my head, I’m a genz so can everyone relax lol
Anyway, I’m really really big on research and I am constantly looking for ways to improve Ciar. I realized something that I think every business owner should be careful of. I was disconnecting from a key target audience!!
Whether we like it or not as we grow we end up in a different bubble, every generation lives in its own world and this can be very dangerous especially when it comes to business. What reaches your age group doesn’t target the age group below, we have our influencers, our style, trends etc
In my line of business, the Genz age range is important because the biggest consumers of fast fashion are the younger generation and I was completely excluding them because, to be honest, I just didn’t know what they were wearing, who their fashion icons were and for someone who believes they are a Genz I was quite shocked when I realized CIAR didn’t have a Genz crowd. lol, and it was even worse knowing that I’m getting older 🙁
So I decided to host a focus group, a random selection of 5 genz ladies. I had a lot of fun doing this because truly I realized how far off I was from reaching them. lol
After the meeting, I made quick changes and hired a few genzs to work with ciar because I feel just having them around as a sounding board will really help, constantly meeting with them and having discussions, including them in the creative process will really help us move forward. So to genz’s and Gen Alpha CIAR is here and we are working. lol
So my advice, stay connected. There is a reason businesses fade off and a reason some stand, they are constantly evolving and working with the newest and youngest minds. Check your model, do you need to restrategize? Some businesses like mine are for a particular age group. Never stop evolving.
To the genz’s you guys are who we thought we were but look out for the gen alphas. Don’t be like us.. we weren’t ready. lol
Till next time guys!!!
